The First 12 Pre-Readers
There are 36 Pre-Readers, 16 Introductory Readers, 20 Blue Platform Readers, 20 Main Readers, 10 Red Platform Readers, 10 Green Platform Readers, and 10 Yellow Platform Readers. All are available in The Reading Corner.
The first 52 books are Monster Mapped to show the orthographic code and make clear how letters and sounds connect. When we show the code we are not constrained by the GPC teaching order within whole class phonics lessons.

As 90% of toddlers won't understand how letters connect to sounds, blend them and read with comprehension when we teach phonics print-to-speech, we flipped it. We show which letters go together, and the Phonemies show the sound value. And guess what, we are finding that 80% can learn to read before they even turn 4 this way, without working through a phonics programme first. Its incredible to watch as they start self-teaching.
This is the second activity used in Speedie Readies: Show the Code. We use The Dual Route to Word Mapping Mastery®. Two paths. Print-to-Speech and Speech-to-Print. The first is the stuff that means they can pass the PSC, using the Monster Spelling Piano app.
But the second route gets them reading and spelling. They can SEE the code.
