Using Phonemies to Learn English

Children learning English as an additional language use the technology and Phrases with Phonemies to hear, see, and practise how words are pronounced in real spoken English. By interacting with Phonemies, children can match the sounds they hear to the written forms they see, helping them build accurate pronunciation without relying on guesswork or adult correction. This allows learners to practise independently, repeat words and phrases as often as needed, and develop confidence in speaking English, even when English is not their first language.

When you sign up to the
training course you will receive access to an additional module for parents of children learning to speak in English as an additional language.

Learning to Speak English as an Additional Language with Phonemies

EALD stands for English as an Additional Language or Dialect. It’s used to describe children who are learning Standard English alongside another language or dialect they already speak, including regional or community dialects. Start using Phonemies from birth, to help your child speak, read and spell in English!
