Emma Hartnell-Baker, MEd SEN, is a teacher, former Ofsted inspector, and former owner-manager of two nurseries rated Outstanding by Ofsted. After more than a decade training teachers in Australia, she returned to England as a doctoral researcher in word mapping. Known as the Neurodivergent Reading Whisperer®, she helps four-year-olds start self-teaching to read within weeks. Through The Reading Hut Ltd she has launched the Early Dyslexia Screening Centre in Dorset and plans to roll out centres across the country. Her mission is clear: identify the one in four most at risk before they start school and change the story.
